This is what we will be making

To complete this tutorial you'll need the following supplies
Ulead Art Texture
Super BladePro with this
preset is optional
The images and .psp files I used are in this
zip
The
eBook of this tutorial is
here
The image you choose to use for this tutorial should be squarish,
with a central focus and around 500px
OK - lets get started - make sure you're nice
and comfy, this is gonna take a while LOL ... it's not hard - just
fiddly, and we all know how confusing fiddly can get ;))
1. Open your image, press shift D to duplicate, then
close your original.
2. Open my grid .psp file, press shift D to duplicate
then close the original. Add a raster layer, then drag it under
the grid.
3. Bring up your image, choose an area to copy - for
example I used the flowers in my preview image. Choose your
selection tool set at rectangle, no feather and select the area of your
image you want in your grid. Copy your selection. Minimize
your image and working on the grid, use your magic wand to select one of
the squares. Go to selections>modify>expand and type in 1. Make
your background layer active, then paste into selection. Do the
same for each of the 4 squares in the grid ... remember when selecting
each square, your grid layer has to be active and when pasting, your
background layer has to be active ;)
4. If you want, you can apply Super BladePro with the
clear glass preset to each of your squares in your grid. This is
useful if you want to mute your grid a little. Just make sure your
background layer is active, select all, float, defloat, then apply your
SBP preset. Merge/flatten your layers and minimize.
5. Open my Debz_BL1.psp, copy, then close it, we won't
need it again.
6. Back to your image, paste the Debz_BL1.psp as a new
layer. Using your magic wand, select outside the BL1 layer.
7. Go to Selections>Modify>expand, then type in 10.
Add a raster layer, drag it under your Debz_BL1.psp layer, then flood
fill with your grid - scale 100, angle 45. Deselect
8. Select all, then go to Selections>modify>contract and
type in 10, then crop to selection.
9. Add a raster layer, drag it under your Debz_BL1.psp
layer, select all, then go to selections>modify>contract and type in 20.
Apply the following cutout. Do not deselect

10. Invert your selection, add a raster layer then flood
fill white. Apply Ulead Art Texture using the settings I've used in many
tuts. If you do not already have this set as a preset, click
here for my mini tut (page
will open in a new window). Do not
deselect
10. Go to selections>modify>contract and type in 5, add
a raster layer, then apply the following cutout. Deselect
11. Make sure your Debz_BL1.psp layer is your top layer,
activate it, then apply the following drop shadow
12. Save as .jpg. To save your frame for other
projects, go to your layer palette and delete your image layer.
Merge visible and export as a picture frame.
