This tutorial was written using V9 - but I'm sure it can be done with earlier versions

OK - lets get started - there are probably 1,000 other ways to achieve this effect, but this is how I do it ;)

1. Open your tube, press shift D to duplicate, then close your original

2. Change your canvas size to 500 x 500 so we have plenty of room to play, then duplicate your tube layer twice (we now have 3 layers). Choose a dark colour as your background colour and my gold tile as your foreground colour

3. Using your magic wand with the settings below, select random areas of your image as below

4. Go to adjust>add remove noise and add noise as shown below. Do not deselect

5. Repeat add noise to each of your other 2 layers, then deselect

6. Select your text tool and add text with the following settings

7. Place your text where you want it, then go to selections>from vector object, go to your layer palette and convert your vector layer to a raster layer. Do not deselect

8. Go to selections>modify>contract and type in 2. Duplicate your layer then hit delete - deselect.

9. You now have 3 tube layers and 2 text layers. For now, turn off the visibility of your tube layers. Choose your text layer that ONLY has the gold on your text and make this your active layer.

10. Go to selections>select all>float>defloat - all your gold text should now be selected. Duplicate this layer twice, then add noise to all 3 gold text layers as we did before, changing to the settings below. Deselect

11. Go to the layer that has your text filled with your background colour and duplicate this layer twice - you should now have 6 text layers - turn off the visibility on all your layers. Now we need to place them all in order, so - hover your mouse over your layer palette to show what is on each layer, turn the visibility on one text layer with the background colour and one gold text layer - drag your gold layer on top of your background colour layer, then merge visible.

12. As you merge each section turn off the visibility of that layer!

13. Repeat dragging your gold layers above your background colour layers and merging till you have 3 text layers ONLY

14. Turn on the visibility on all your layers - there should be six in total - 3 image and 3 text

15. Crop your image down to get rid of useless space as below

16. Save your image as a V7 compatible psp file

17. Open animation shop - locate and open your saved tag - it should open and look like below!

18. Go to file>save as and save your animated tag!

If you are unsure about saving files in animation shop, please go to the next page for more information

That's it!  All done!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial ;)
