Colouring Black & White images

You'll only need Paint Shop Pro and a black & white image to do this tutorial

To use the image I did, click here

Lets get started

1. Open the black & white image you want to use, then press shift D to copy it, then close your original image.

2. Go to your layer palette and duplicate your image layer. Then turn the visibility off on your top layer and make sure your bottom layer is active.

3. Using your paint brush tool, colour in your image ... you can use plain colours, textures, basically anything that you want, and you don't need to be totally careful about colouring all or colouring in within the lines LOL. Once your finished colouring you should have something that looks pretty much as hideous as this one below :)

4. The next step is to go back to your layer palette and turn the visibility of your top layer back on, and lower the opacity to 50.

5. As you can see, your image now has the textures of the black and white picture, but now it also has colour. If you feel that the lines between colours are too stark, add a blur to your base layer to soften.

6. All you need to do now is add a border, and we're all done :) Wasn't that easy!

I hope you enjoyed doing this tutorial as much as I enjoyed writing it
