Lets make a window

Supplies

Gold fill tile here

Pink silk - here

Image - here

Sorry - didn't manage to get all the screenshots retrieved!

1. Open your image, press shift/d to duplicate, then close your original image.

2. Go to image>add borders, and add a symmetrical border of 5, activate your border with the magic wand, and flood fill your border with your gold fill tile, then add a bevel with the following settings

3. Invert, and go to effects>3D effects>cutout and add the following cutout twice, once with settings set to minus 5

4. Add another border of 15, then add the following bevel (this is now called bevel #2)

5. Deselect and add a new layer.

6. Find the centre of your image, if you're using my image the centre is 209.

7. Choose your selection tool, set to rectangle>feather 0>antialias checked and draw a rectangle starting in the centre, covering the right side of your image.

8. Flood fill your selection with the gold fill.

9. Go to selections>modify>contract and type in 20, then go to edit>cut.

10. Turn the visibility of your image layer OFF.

11. Using magic wand, click both the inside and outside of your window frame, then go selections>invert, and add bevel #2.

12. Deselect, and add a new raster layer. Go to view>grid and activate your grid using the following settings

?

13. Select your draw tool, set it to point to point>line width 3>antialias checked.

14. Using your grid as a guide, click where you want your line to start, then click again where you want it to finish. Once you're happy that the lines are straight, right click and select quit node editing. Do your entire window top to bottom and side to side (I used every second grid line). You can turn the grid back off once you're finished.

15. Select your magic wand, and click on one of the lines you've drawn (this should activate all the lines you've just drawn), flood fill with your gold tile, then add bevel #2. Deselect, and move this layer underneath your window's outer frame - merge visible.

16. Go to edit>canvas resize and use the following settings

?

17. Select your deformation tool, and holding the shift key down, drag the right top node down 3 squares (you DO have a transparent background now don't you!) using the squares of your transparent background as a guide. Do the same with the node on the bottom right. Deselect.

18. Go to you layer palette, and duplicate your window layer, then edit>mirror.

19. Your image is huge - so resize by 75, then crop the background so that your image sits nicely in the centre.

20. Activate your image layer (not the windows), and click somewhere outside the frame with your magic wand. Go to edit, cut.

21. Choose each layer separately and add the following drop shadow to each layer

22. Almost done now! Go to your layer palette, and add a new layer under all your other layers.

23. Flood fill with the pink silk tile, add a border of 5, flood fill with gold tile, add bevel #2, invert and add cutouts as before.

Done! I thought we'd never get there :))
