Preset Shapes

This tutorial was written with the intention of being easy for the beginner to follow

(let me know if this isn't the case LOL)

You'll find everything you need to complete this tutorial here

Unzip the gold fills (.bmp files) into your PSP patterns folder (personally, I have a separate folder for background fills and point PSP to them), the jsl file goes into your preset shapes folder, and the psp file can either be copied and pasted into your picture or converted to a useable tube by opening the picture, going to your layer palette, going down to properties and checking the lock transparency box. You can then go to file>export>picture tube and save as a tube.

Before we begin I'd like to invite you to use your own creativity in completing this tutorial, perhaps try it once using the supplies here and then once on your own. You may change anything in this lesson provided you come up with a similar finished product, so use your own background tiles, tubes, colours - you can even change the preset shape we use here if that is what you wish, the principals of the tutorial will be the same no matter what you do ... just enjoy creating something that is 'yours' and not a copy of something somebody else has done :) That said, let's get started.

1. Open a new 450 x 450 transparent image. Add a new raster layer and flood fill it with your eosclay4. Add a new raster layer, and flood fill with white.

2. Go to your layer palette, and change the opacity of layer 3 to 50 as shown below

3. Go to Layers, and merge visible.

4. Add a new raster layer, flood fill with you eosclay4 again. Add a new raster layer

5. With your foreground colour set to white and your background set to null as below go to your preset shapes and choose heart 11 as shown below

6. Starting at the top left of your image, draw your heart. Now the reason we've created this as a vector is so we can use the nodes to position as you like it - you can have a short stumpy heart, whatever takes your fancy

7. Once you're happy with the shape of your heart, go to layers>convert to raster layer

8. Using your magic wand, click somewhere on the white outline of your heart to activate it - which means you will have marching ants all over your white heart, then go to selections>modify>expand and in the box that appears type in 1. Do not deselect

9. Go to your bucket tool and flood fill with your goldfill2 tile (this should be in your patterns)

10. Add an inner bevel as shown below. Deselect
