The eBook and all supplies for this tutorial are here
The tut was written for V8, but anyone wanting to try this tut with V7 can download my samples, which you will find here
OK - lets get started
1. Choose a light foreground and slightly darker background colour from the graphic you intend to frame
2. Open a new canvas 350 x 350, transparent (we're starting out big LOL)
3. Go to Effects>Artistic Effects>Balls & Bubbles and apply the following settings IN SEQUENCE - do not apply in between steps! And do not apply yet!
4. On setting #2 & #4, substitute the colours I used for the colours you selected from your image - setting 2 with your lighter colour and setting 4 with your darker colour - now apply :)
5. Add a new raster layer, then set your selection tool to square - no feather and make a square in the centre of your ball.
6. Fill this square with colour - any, doesn't matter :). Deselect, then delete this layer, then paste as a new layer - the square is now perfectly centred
7. Use your magic wand to select your square, then making sure your ball image is the active layer, copy, then paste as a new image. Save your ball image as a .psp file to use later if you wish :) but you can close this now.
8. Working on the new image we just made from the square, apply FM Tile Tools, Blend Emboss with the default settings, then apply seamless tiling using the default settings. Reapply Blend Emboss if you want to make your tile stand out more.
9. Save your tile as a .pspimage in your patterns and texture folder (I have one set up that covers both and I point PSP to it), now its time to use it on our frame, so minimize it on your desktop :)
