This is what we will be making

To complete this tutorial you will need the following supplies

Ulead Art Texture - get it here

The eBook of this tutorial and all supplies are here

OK - let's get on with it

1. Open your graphic, then shift D to duplicate and close your original. Open my pre-coloured filigree template and minimize

2. Using your preset shapes, draw an ellipse in the centre of your graphic using these settings

3. Using the vector nodes, make your ellipse fit nicely into your graphic, go to Objects>Align>Centre in canvas, then promote your vector layer to a raster layer

4. Turn off the visibility on your graphic layer, then click the outside of your ellipse with your magic wand. Invert your selection and flood fill with white

5. Go to Selections>Modify>Contract and type in 10. Cut then deselect

6. Click your ellipse with your magic wand, then go to Ulead Art Texture, to get to your palette ramp, use button marked 1 then choose palette-5. Do not apply

7. Try to get a pattern similar to mine by going to the button marked #2, then #3, do this as many times as it takes to get a similar result (I wish I knew a way to save these settings so I can share them!)  Once you have the pattern you want, use button marked #4 to save the setting - to find this setting again just go to load lib :)  Apply Art Texture. Do not deselect

8. Apply the following inner bevel - or use my 1a preset. Deselect

9. Click on the outside of your ellipse with your magic wand again, then go to Selections>Modify>Expand and type in 1. Do not deselect. Add a raster layer and flood fill with white. Do not deselect

10. Apply Ulead Art Texture to this new layer, then without deselecting, add a raster layer and flood fill with my pre-coloured template. Do not deselect

11. Go to your layer palette and drag your new layer under your ellipse layer and turn the visibility of your graphic layer back on, merge all (flatten) then apply the following cutout. Repeat with minus values, then deselect

12. Add a symmetrical border of 10, click with your magic wand then apply the same Ulead Art Texture pattern we've been using, repeat the inner bevel we used before. Deselect and we're all done!!

I hope you enjoyed doing this tutorial as much as I enjoyed writing it
