Simple Filters

The eBook of this tutorial and all other supplies are here

OK - lets get started

1. Open your image and goldenbead tile. Minimize the tile. Press shift D twice to duplicate your image twice, then close your original

2. Minimize one of your image copies, and working on the other copy, resize it to about 50%, then apply seamless tiling using the default values. Minimize this tile and bring up your other copy

3. Add a symmetrical border of 3 - any colour not in your graphic, click with your magic wand and flood fill with your goldenbead tile. Apply unsharp mask with default settings - do not deselect

4. Invert your selection and apply my main pic cutout preset - or use the settings below - apply this cutout twice. Deselect

5. Add a symmetrical border of 23 - again, any colour, click with your magic wand and flood fill with the tile we made earlier. Do not deselect

6. Apply FM Paint Engine with the following settings three times, then apply unsharp mask

Now you *could* sit there and move the sliders to the correct numbers - OR - you could use the attached zip with my settings and check out Ingerlise's tutorial for saving your settings the easy way!

Thanks for letting me use this Ingerlise :)

7. Add a symmetrical border of 3 - any colour, click with your magic wand and flood fill with your goldenbead tile. Apply unsharp mask - deselect

8. Activate your mesh warp tool - sometimes it hides LOL, so this is where you will find it

9. Your image will now have a grid over it - using the screenshot below, move your grid (click onto one of the nodes - or little squares - and drag inwards) till you're happy with the way your frame looks

10. Deselect your warp mesh tool and apply unsharp mask.

11. Add a symmetrical border of 33, click with your magic wand, then flood fill with the tile we made - apply FM Paint Engine with the settings we used before 3 times, apply unsharp mask. Invert your selection and apply the following drop shadow. Deselect

12. Add a symmetrical border of 3 - any colour, click with your magic wand and flood fill with your goldenbead tile. Apply unsharp mask, invert your selection and apply the following cutout - deselect

13. Select all, then modify>Contract and type in 39. Invert your selection then apply Simple Filter's Zoom out and Flip. Deselect

14. Add a symmetrical border of 3 - any colour, click with your magic wand and flood fill with your goldenbead tile. Apply unsharp mask, deselect and we're all done :)
