This is what we will be making

To complete this tutorial you will need:

FM Paint Engine

NVR Bordermania

Alfs Border FX

Ulead Art Texture

An eBook of this tutorial and all other supplies are here

OK - lets get started

1. Open your graphic, press shift D to duplicate twice, then close your original and minimize one of your copies

2. Working on the other copy of your graphic, resize to around 200 x 200 pixels, apply gaussian blur with a radius of 3, then apply FM Paint Engine using the brushed strokes preset (I have included the settings if you don't have them), sharpen then apply topography with the following settings

3. Apply seamless tiling using the default settings, then minimize this tile and open your other graphic copy

4. Add a symmetrical border of 12, click with your magic wand, then apply Ulead Art Texture using the gold #5 setting (see my Gold Filigree tut to get settings). Invert your selection and apply the following cutout or my main pic preset. Do not deselect

5. Go to Selections>Modify>Contract and type in 4, then apply NVR Bordermania's 3D BW sunken #2 plugin. Deselect

6. Add a symmetrical border of 34, click with your magic wand then flood fill with the tile we minimized earlier, apply the following cutout. Repeat with minus values but do not deselect

7. Apply Alf's Border FX - mirror bevel preset. Deselect

8. Add a symmetrical border of 12, click with your magic wand, then apply Ulead Art Texture using the same setting we used before. Do not deselect

9. Go to Selections>Modify>Contract and type in 4, then apply NVR Bordermania's 3D BW sunken #2 plugin. Deselect and we're all done!
