This is what we will be making
To complete this tutorial you'll need the following supplies
The mask I used is here
My gold tile is here
The globe tube I used is here
The eBook of this tutorial is here
** I used PSP9 for this tutorial, but I'm sure this can be done with any version **
OK - lets get started
1. Open your image, press shift D to duplicate, repeat then close your original and minimize one of your images
2. Resize one of your copies to around 200 pixels, then apply seamless tiling with the default values, then minimize this tile and bring up your other copy
3. Resize your image now to a workable size - doing it later will ruin the effect
4. Add a raster layer, and flood fill with my gold tile
5. Apply the kwc_laceyframe mask with the following settings
6. Merge your layer group, then add a drop shadow with the following settings, repeat with minus values then sharpen 4 times
7. Go to your layer palette, and turn off the visibility on all layers except the mask frame layer. Click centre oval in your mask frame with your magic wand. Go to selections>modify and expand your selection by 2. Do not deselect
8. Add a raster layer, then open my globe tube. Copy my globe tube, then paste into the active selection on your frame. Do not deselect
9. Drag the globe tube layer under your mask frame layer, but do not deselect
10. Go to your layer palette and turn on the visibility of all your layers. Make your image layer your active layer, then invert your selection. Do not deselect
11. Appy V9's radial blur with the settings below - or add a gaussian blur with a radius of 10 for earlier versions. Do not deselect
12. Invert your selection, make your globe layer active and apply the following drop shadow - repeat with minus values and deselect
13. Add a symmetrical border of 5, click with your magic wand, then flood fill with my gold tile and apply the following inner bevel - sharpen 4 times then invert your selection
14. Apply the following cutout - repeat with minus values then deselect
15. Add a symmetrical border of 30, click with your magic wand then flood fill with the tile we made in step one. Do not deselect
16. Apply gaussian blur with a radius of 10, then apply the same cutout we just used repeating with minus values. Deselect
17. Add a symmetrical border of 5, click with your magic wand, then flood fill with my gold tile and apply the same inner bevel we used before - sharpen 4 times, then deselect
That's it - we're all done!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial ;)
