This is what we will be making

To complete this tutorial you'll need the following supplies

Ulead Art Texture

FM Tile Tools - here

Simple Diamonds - here

The image I used is here

The eBook of this tutorial is here

** I used PSP9 for this tutorial, but I'm sure this can be done with any version **

OK - lets get started

1. Open your image, I recommend a smallish image (around 300 pixels) because once you've added your borders you will be adding an extra 100 pixels to your image and this frame DOES NOT resize well - it loses a LOT of detail when resized, so make your adjustments now.  Press shift D to duplicate then close your original.  Create another duplicate, resize down to around 200 pixels and apply seamless tiling using default settings.  Minimize the tile we just made and make your other copy active

2. Add a symmetrical border of 4, click with your magic wand, then apply Ulead Art Texture with the settings below. Do not deselect

[Click #1 - select ramp 5, then click reset, then click template #3 - add to lib to use again]

3. Apply an inner bevel with the settings below. Do not deselect

4. Invert your selection and apply the following cutout. Deselect

5. Add a symmetrical border of 44, click with your magic wand and flood fill with the tile we minimized. Do not deselect

6. Apply a gaussian blur with a radius of 30, then apply Blinds <Effects>Texture Effects>Blinds> with the following settings.  Do not deselect

7. Apply FM Tile Tools Blend Emboss with default settings, then apply the following cutout. Repeat with minus values. Do not deselect

8. Apply Simple Diamonds.  Apply FM Tile Tools Blend Emboss, then repeat the last cutout we used twice (once with minus values and once with plus values). Deselect

9. Repeat steps 2 - 7.  Then select all, go to selections>modify>contract and type in 92.  Invert your selection then apply the following Kaleidoscope settings <Effects>Reflection Effects>Kaleidoscope>.  Do not deselect

10.  Apply FM Tile Tools Blend Emboss, then apply the same cutout we used before - repeat with minus values. Do not deselect

11.  Invert your selection, then promote your selection to a layer.  Deselect and duplicate this layer twice (you should have a background layer, then 3 copies of your selection layer).  Go to your layer palette and make your first selection layer active, go to image>rotate>Free rotate and apply the following settings

12. Go to your layer palette and make your second selection layer active, go back to free rotate and change the direction from right to left

13.  Apply the following drop shadow to each selection layer

14.  Repeat steps 2 & 3, but this time you can deselect ;)

That's it - all done!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial ;)
